Elitha Bloom is dedicated to supporting single mothers facing homelessness and uplifting children in care, providing vital services that nurture dignity, independence, security and emotional wellbeing.Did you know, children enter care because of mistreatment not delinquency? The misjudgment that children in care are "troubled" or "criminals" reflects a motivation to correct injustice and foster empathy. Safe environment reduces behaviour issues with ofsted data showing well monitored placements cut incident reports by up to 40%.1 in 38 single mothers are facing homelessness in England. Figures show that 92% of homeless single parent families are led by mothers emphasising their vulnerability due to low income and childcare responsibility. A 2023 Shelter report noted that 68% of homeless families felt “trapped” without tailored support and hubs that can break the cycle. Research shows that some single parents avoid getting help for fear Social Services will take their child (ren), enduring unsafe conditions to keep children close.
